TOOL07 MINI RUBBER CONE REMOVAL TOOL
This cone removal tool is for metric threaded rubber cone springs only as fitted from 1976, many earlier cars will have now had metric replacements but check before use.
The outer body has a flange on one end which is the bottom to sit on the bulk head where the locating holes for the suspension cone are situated.
The rod has a small threaded end for screwing into the cone by winding the opposite end with an 8mm metric or 5/16”Hexagon Allen key or socket.
Once you have fully inserted the correct threaded end into the rubber cone spring place the outer body over it if not already in place. Always lubricate the old cone thread and the rod before use to prolong active life.
Place the washer on the long threaded end of the rod so it sits on top of the outer body and then screw the large adjusting nut down as required.
Hold the Allen key in place to stop any unnecessary unwinding whilst tightening the nut which will compress the cone to allow removal of the trumpet and dismantling of the parts as required.
