Genuine panel that has the holes for wipers and jets with only a few inches of pillar which is basically the area that rots. Also referred to as the windscreen scuttle lower panel. Fitting the genuine type ensures you should get a better windscreen and seal fit as they are from original pressings.
On cars from 1992on check the drain channel as VIN numbers were stamped above the clutch master cylinder-windscreen and backlight were also etched with VIN numbers
Non genuine pattern panel is available as
HMP441001MS.
When fitting a new scuttle to a car that has the VIN stamped in it, its advisable to restamp the VIN, either in the scuttle or another part of the body structure (under the rear seat base, or on the edge of the triangle part in the engine bay) as its becomming more common that MOT's, car inspections, DVLA etc want to see the stamped number, and it can be an issue if its not there as it calls the identity of the car into question.
