Interior lamp with square blunt ends. This part superseded 13H192 which originally had the black on/off switch which BMC also fitted as an alternative. Fitted from October 1964 when courtesy light switches were introduced on Cooper from body number 30891 and Cooper S from 31223 and was fitted to all Mk2/3 until October 1974.
In 1974 the Mk2/3 lamp was superseded by a rectangular lamp
13H8919 which was replaced by same shape lamp
EAM1650.
The earlier lamp with pointed torpedo ends and a black switch was used on MK1 model Minis,Elf & Hornet MK2,See
14A9148 which was an alternatives to 13H192.
On the Mk3 Mini and Mk2 Elf/Hornet it was fitted on the side of the roof-whereas on MK1/2 with 2 piece headlining it was fitted in middle of roof.
Most have now tarnished and changed colour considerably as well as becoming very brittle and break when removed so buy a new one whilst you can.
The screw size for lamp fitting is 3/4 inch No6 preferably countersunk.
Wingard were taken over in 1972 by Griffiths and Bentley owners of Britax and then rationalised their business after 1973 when they became part of Bristol Street Motors Group. This lamp was discontinued after 1974 and replaced by the oblong lamp 13H8919 and the EAM1650 until 1983.
