To replace the troublesome block to filter head oil transfer pipe when fitting the later
LPX10026RACE spin on filter head with 11/16"union to an early engine block. Another benefit owing to the larger feed holes and extra oil flow is extra BHP can be gained when checked on a dyno but also decreases the need for fitting an oil cooler under most circumstances.
Pre 1992 engines have 5/8" block union and 1/4" npt thread for the filter head
12A engines from 1992 on have 11/16"UNF block and filter head.
So this kit has 5/8" unf block union and 11/16" filter head union.
