Light grey plastic 6" mirror fitted by BMC as standard from October 1964-69.
The first light grey plastic 6" mirror with a twin ball stem and black sucker was patented in 1962 but not fitted until October 1964. At the end of 1965 the twin ball stem was replaced with a 3 ball stem which had the extra ball on the middle of the stem to accept a new modified clear plastic sucker
CRT10004 .This mirror also fitted Austin/Morris 1100/1300 range
The early black sucker was fitted to cars with sun visors that had a hinge at one end and a clip at the other plus a few with a hinge at both ends until early 1966.
2 styles of mirror head caps were fitted and the other style is available as
47H9649 and
47H9649WHITE if seeking your original style which have to be purchased seperately
When they introduced the sun visor with hinges at both ends they started fitting the 3 ball mirror stem shortly afterwards.
Not all chassis number info was available even in 1968 but the following was recorded unti the 3 ball stem and sucker replaced the 2 ball stem.
