Problems with Jack Knight
I ordered a 24 tooth first motion shaft for a JK involute gearbox from JK, They were happy to take my money, but delivered the wrong parts only to find out later that they never had the right ones in the first place.. Does anybody out there have any JK connections or know where I can buy a 24 tooth first motion shaft for a JK involute gearbox??
Thanks! Greg Wold

HELP!! I need a left handed thread nut for my JKD 6 speed!
Hi word of advice - if youve got a Jack Knight 5 or 6 speed dog box and you want spares from Jack KNight - forget it! Ive been trying to get a 13/16-20UNEF for weeks now... Jack Knight wont make any, even though they have the tap to do it! Ive phoned around everywhere to try and get one at a reasonable price but the cheapest Ive found is £80 - for one nut!!!! Soneone out there much be able to help!!!

There was a 5 speed box fitted to the Sport 5 and Jack Knight also produced one.

power!!!
I'm in no way a mini expert, but here's my two cents worth. If you go with an MED 1430cc you'll already be close to you're target range of bhp, so a few more mods, maybe a turbo/supercharger and you'd be there. As to the gearbox I would go with a strengthened box, maybe a minispares 5 speed or a jack knight 6 speed. The jack knight is 4600 U.S. dollars, so it's a pretty penny. The cam, I really can't say, as I'm tuning an 850cc and it has completely different realms of power. I'm putting in a 266 or 276 cam. I would e-mail and Keith Calver about the cam.

Changing Brakes
I have heard of power steering kits for Minis and I'm sure a disabled person appeared in one of the Mini Magz several years ago with a Mini equipped with such a device.
And the famous Mini Specialists "Jack Knight" supply such a kit, but as you can see, it's very expensive: -

Or you could invest in a Jack Knight electric power steering unit: -
