there is indeed an adaptor, it should come with the gauge or be available in a fitting kit to suit the gauge. i fitted a TIM pressure gauge to my car and it came with all of the connections, even allowed me to keep the oil pressure warning light. the only thing i would recommend is fitting a braided line for the gauge, the solid copper ones break really easy. mine lasted about 2 months, but my engine rocks like you wouldnt believe!

Oil Pressure Gauge Pipe
When i bought my oil pressure gauge i also bought the braided pipe C-AHT9 i noticed that when i got it and checked it the pipe was to big to fit to the attachment at the back of my gauge (tim gauge) and that there was no way of attaching it to my block, can anyone help me find the parts needed to fit this pipe?

I got the copper one, but i got that one to make my engine look better and so that if my engine rocked too much the pipe would not break, i will be sending it back as i have looked at there catalogue and its a oil cooler pipe not a guage pipe as they say on the website.

Can anyone tell me how to fit a mechanical oil pressure gauge to a 1998 MPI 1275.There is already a oil temp gauge and i was led to believe you fixed an oil pressure gauge to another position on the block.

Oil Pressure Gauge
I have fitted an oil pressure gauge to my MPi. Get the necessary bits from MS. a tee piece, etc remove the oil pressure switch at the front of the engine. Fit the Tee piece to the block and refit the oil pressure switch and oil pressure line. It is not that difficult.

FOR SALE: TIM mechanical oil pressure and water temperature gauges
Hi,
I have recently purchased a Smith's dual gauge and hence am selling my TIM oil pressure and water temperature gauges. Both are of the mechanical type (not electronic) and are in good condition. They come complete with all the connectors and piping for an A series engine, together with fitting instructions. They are both approx. 2 years old.
The oil pressure gauge is an orange needle on a black face with white lettering (0-80PSI) amd a yellow circle, and the water temp. gauge is a white needle on a black face with white lettering (40-120 oC).
Both can be seen working on my car in Lincolnshire.
Cost £22-25 each but looking for £10 each plus £3 postage. Was going to put on e-bay but my camera is not downloading at the moment!
Thanks for reading.

Electronic Oil Pressure gauge question?
Hi, I have a mini clubman and would like to fit an Oil Pressure gauge. If I pick an electronic one, can I use the existing pressure sender? If not and I use the one with the gauge, will I have any issues with the oil pressure warning light?
Cheers Roberto

‘92 Rover Mini Oil Pressure Gauge
I’ve a ‘92 Rover Mini, 1.3L manual, but will be away from it for a few months. Quick question - anyone know if the oil pressure gauge is electric or piped?
Thanks!

Assuming you have the standard set of instruments, it will be an electrical gauge.

re
Assuming your engine is pre-1996, if you are using a capilary gauge, you would use: Part # OA Oil gauge adapter - screws into the block or a T-piece if you want to retain the oil pressure lamp. Part # HPS1 22Lb Oil Pressure switch (Instead of the standard 7 - 10Lb standard switch - why wait until the pressure drops too low?) Part # C-AHT9 Braided steel oil pressure hose - not only looks really sharp, its very well made. Part # TP T-piece connector to enable both a capilary oil pressure gauge and an oil pressure switch (for indicator lamp). All of this is available on this site! (The TIMS gauges offer good value for money, with the added benefit that you can actually see them at night!)

low oil pressure
Don't rely on the warning light - get a proper oil pressure gauge and take some readings.

Oil pressure relief valve
You really need check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. just because the light is out does not mean the pressure is OK

PIPE OIL GAUGE TO HOSE
Just fitted a new oil pipe to the oil gauge and on starting motor no pressure showed on gauge. On inspection the new pipe was blocked where the fitting end had been soldered on to the pipe.

Oil Pressure
Hi - I've got a Mk2 mini with A+ engine and oil cooler, and oil gauge as the standard de-lux dashboard. my oil pressure is 75 psi on the road, 50 on tick-over - I'd like to get it down to 60psi but have the oil feed pipe to the oil gauge on the oil pressure socket, so can't use a regulator. Any ideas please?
I think I need a T piece connector from the pressure valve housing to join the existing pressure cable to the gauge, but also to add in a regulator - does anything like this exist?
Thanks
Andy
