Flooded wiper motor
Please can anyone advise me how I can stop the wiper motor from filling up with water and blowing either the fuse or itself up. This is the second one Ive had to replace in 2 years. Thanks.

Try replacing the rubber seal on the rear lip of the bonnet/along the scuttle. Sounds like water is running past it and onto the bulkhead in the engine bay, thus slowly drowning the wiper motor. Also look at the drain channels down the sides of the bonnet formed by the inner/outer wing joint, they may have rotted at the top.

Wiper motor clamp
Hi, Need to replace wiper motor but one of the captive nuts, and screw, in the bulkhead that the clamp is screwed onto has gone missing. Mini Spares dont stock these. Any ideas where I can get replacements? Thanks Rod

Wiper motor connections - which wire does what
My Mini Sidewalk came with the wiper motor loom cut behind the air filter, a shot wiper motor and before I fit a new motor I would like to know which coloured cable connects to which on the wiper motor.
The loom contains five coloured cables - Black (earth), Blue, Red with green stripe, Green with yellow stripe and Brown with green stripe.
Can anyone out there assist?
Thanks

Personally, I would just cut a lump of plastic to size so it fits neatly in the hole in the bulkhead, drill a small hole in it, and bob's your uncle. When you insert the screw it should expand and grip the bulkhead tightly.

If the motor's running slow the problem is most likely just the drive gear is seizing up. There's a tube that runs from the wiper motor to the two wheel boxes that drive the wiper arms. Take the whole thing off (fiddly, but not too difficult - best done with the bonnet off) and clean and grease the tube and the wheel boxes. Do the same for the gears in the wiper motor itself.

To get the whole assembly out
remove wipers, remove the nuts from spindles, remove the spindles spacers and seals, under bonnet remove plastic wiper motor cover, remove retaining U bracket, unplug motor, then remove whole moter/tube/spindle assembly.
might be more to it than that if you have a left hand drive servo braked mini.

Windscreen wiper motor
Just wondered if anyone had any advice on fixing my wiper motor?
It started with the flick wipe being very slow. Briefly it went through a stage where the wipers wouldn't turn off. Now the wipers work OK but don't park - they just stop wherever they were when I switched them off.
I just wondered where the motor is, how easy it is to get out and if there are any suggestions as to how best to fix it, particualrly given the symptoms I describe? Anyone got any experience of this?

By the sounds of it this could just be that the park switch ( a little plastic switch that clips to the back of the motor) is faulty. This is quite common and would cause the wipers not to return to the start on the flick wipe. Could also cause them not to turn off. Try replacing that before condemning the motor.

windscreen wiper motor
It clips on to the back of the motor rather awkwardly, be careful not to snap the clip part. Also might be worth putting some wd40 on the connectors because they can get quite stuck with age.

Wiper motor
Hi, i have a 1996 mini. The wiper motor broke so i purchased a re-con one. I have connected it up, but the wipers are on all the time, even when the stalk is in the off position. They do speed up in position 2. I have looked at the photo pictured on the forum, but it is when the wires are in these positions that the problem happens. Please can someone tell me what points do what on the motor and what wires go where? We had tried a number of different ways, but still can't seem to get it right. The multi-plug is wired correctly. PLEASE HELP.

Actually, it sounds as though the self-parking switch may be misbehaving. This is the gadget that keeps power to the motor until it hits the right point, then it switches off. If that is stuck, then the wipers will run for ever.

2 speed wiper motor upgrade
I have a square single speed wiper motor and rack etc. at the moment, but have a round two speed motor from an MGB which does not have the gear in it. Is it possible to fit the 608092A gear and 37H3694 ferrule plus of course the necessary switch, wiring and mounting changes?
