ENGINE ASSEMBLEY COMPOUND
ANY RECOMENDATIONS ON THE BEST GASKET SEALENT TO USE WHEN REBUILDING MY ENGINE> BLUE IS NON-HARDENING, RED IS HARDENING OR SHOULD I USE SOME ORANGE RTV SEALANT?? IVE ALWAYS HAD LEAKS IN THE PAST FROM THE TIMING COVER END, AND WITH A BELT DRIVE SYSTEM ITS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING ELSE. ONCE I PUT THE BLACK HALF MOON SHAPE RUBBER SEAL ON THE WRONG AROUND AND IT WAS ALWAYS DRIBBLING, THEN THE LAST TIME I PUT IT IN THE CORRECT WAY IT STILL LEAKED A LITTLE BIT. ID LIKE TO HEAR YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, REALLY...

noise in TPI - can any TPI driver do me a tiny favour?
many moons ago a friend of mine had a metro with a noise very similar to yours. we change things like the timing chain, we even found a bent pushrod, but the root of the evil was found after several weeks and alot of agro.
where the cam follower sat in the block there was damage to the block making the follower rattle, just like a worn timing chain. I remember going to an engine expert, and he said timing chain, and we told him it was changed a week ago
it stupped most people and we resolved it by open heart surgery.in 20 years of playing with minis I have only ever come accross this once.

many moons ago, there was a car called an Austin 1300gt, and the engine use to get shoe horned into the mini, but this was a cheap mans cooper 1275
and it was not 1300cc, but 1275 anyway, and this was when most normal minis were 850cc and 998cc

Working progress. I only met her yesterday!
Hi All,
Have a look at my baby. I was kidnapped by my boyfriend yesterday who blindfolded me and then introduced me to my classic mini. He brought it for me as a surprose. I was in complete shock as I have wanted one for years now. She needs alot of work and practically needs rebuilding but she will get there soon.
I am over the moon with her and cant wait to get her on the road. I want her ready now but it is probably going to be a while. If any of you know of anyone with a garage for rent let us know. Cheers
Love
Alyson
