Mini for my 1st car
firstly, hello all I am new to the forum second I'm really enthusiastic about the classic mini, its all i seem to be able to think about getting one. Can anyone tell me the things to look out for when looking at one and i want to get wide wheel arches and deep dish alloys if i cant find one for sale already with this on so i was wondering when i put the wide arches on, the wheels will sit too far in the arches so how do i get the wheels to be out of the body and in line with the wide wheel arches?
thnx

Immobiliser
I recently had a immobiliser fitted and before it was fitted the bloke was telling me it would be a good idea to add another earth to the battery going to a diffrent part of the body and doing the same to the engine. I just wanted to see what you guys think and if you know if it would be costly to do because when i turn my head lights on it dims a bit then comes on.

Hi,
Try the following link, i believe this is a US site. It looks like it'll cost $7.75
http://www.minimania.com/web/CatPage/12-33/Chapter/12/Page/33/MiniCooperCatalog.cfm
Let me know if this is what you were looking for.

I tried both sites. Mini Mania and the mini special edition site. Mini Mania has never had them and the mini owners club e-mail address is out of date so I couldn't ask them.?? Thanks for the info. I'll just have to keep on looking. Tom

jet of hif carb
do u have to strip the fuel sender out in order to remove the jet, and how easy are they to remove. i bourt a hif6/44 from scrap yard and wanna rebuild it before i do what is equal to a stage 1 kit. as iv read the jet is quite prone to wear on hif carbs as needle rubs more.

which needle jet??
We have a mini city E 998, with stage 1 kit and fast road cam. Could anyone tell us which needle would be best suited as the car feels lean??

this is what minispares recomend. but if u setup isnt identical to theres it wont be spot on as any change of parts often reqires a change of needle. but should be near enouth. The win SU program is interesting but it simply cant do what it claims to be able to. it doesnt take into account so many things. best thing about it is comparing profiles i find that useful. also it doesnt mention what dashpot spring u reqire.
