The common practice for inspecting pushrods is to roll them over a flat surface and then use the truest 8 out of a used pile! The pushrod is an important part of the valve train and must be in perfect condition for quiet running and optimum performance. There are two lengths;
2A14 for small bore (850-1071cc) and
AEG314 for 1275cc. The end that sits in the cam follower is also important as power can be lost by poor fitment on the radius between follower and rod.
